Rant: I tracked my mail for 90 days and the 'lost package' thing is mostly our own fault
Everybody in my conspiracy group keeps saying the postal service is secretly dumping our stuff or stealing it, but I tried something different last spring. For 90 days I logged every package that came to my place in Portland, 47 total, and wrote down the date the tracking said it would arrive versus the day it showed up. Only 5 were late, and 4 of those were because the sender printed the label on a Sunday and it sat there. The one real miss was a box that went to the wrong zip in Vancouver and still got to me in 6 days. I started texting the drivers a heads up when I knew I would not be home, and my late rate dropped to almost nothing. Now everybody in the group tells me I am a fed or something. Has anyone else here tried keeping an actual log of this stuff before blaming the whole system?
Feels like this happens with everything now, people would rather believe a big scary story than just write stuff down and see for themselves. I've seen the same thing with my own bills and gas mileage, the numbers usually prove the drama wrong.
