My neighbor's security camera kept dropping offline for 3 months straight
He was convinced someone was hacking it to hide their movements, but I finally traced it to a bad power adapter that would overheat after 45 minutes. It took me two full weekends of testing to prove it wasn't a targeted attack. How do you separate a real tech glitch from something that looks like deliberate sabotage?

That Wired article on tech paranoia said to always check power supplies first.

Honestly I start by assuming I'm an idiot, lmao. My first thought is always some grand conspiracy but it's usually just a loose cable or a setting I clicked by mistake. I try to swap out the simplest parts first, like power supplies or cables, before I even consider anything fancy. If the problem goes away with basic stuff, you saved yourself a huge headache. If not, then you can start down the rabbit hole.
