I spent years laughing at the 'birds aren't real' thing... then I saw something weird.
Okay, so for a long time I thought the whole drone bird theory was just a funny meme, you know? Like, obviously birds are real. But about six months ago, I was walking my dog in the park near my apartment and saw a pigeon just... stop. It froze on the ground, didn't move a muscle for a solid three minutes while my dog barked at it. No head tilt, no blinking, nothing. Then a guy in a plain gray van parked across the street got out, walked over, picked it up, and drove off. I looked it up later and found a local news clip from 2021 about a university doing wildlife tracking with tiny solar powered tags. The clip showed the exact same type of van. It wasn't a conspiracy, it was a grad student collecting his gear. Felt pretty dumb for that spike of panic. Has anyone else had a moment where a joke theory suddenly felt a little too real because of one odd thing you saw?

ok but honestly i feel like people sleep on how much sense government geese actually makes. like think about it, drones are expensive and easy to shoot down or jam. a flock of trained geese though? nobody's gonna suspect a thing, they just look like regular birds. plus they're naturally territorial and loud, perfect for perimeter security. i could totally see some DARPA guy pitching this with a straight face.
