Found a trick that shut down 9/11 truthers in one reply
I used to waste hours arguing with people about controlled demolition claims. They kept posting that same video with the "molten steel" puddle. So I looked up the melting point of steel and the temp of jet fuel fires. Then I dug up a government report on sulfur content in that specific steel batch. Turns out the sulfur lowered the melting point by 300 degrees. I posted that with the citation and the thread died in 10 minutes. Has anyone else found one solid source that just ends an argument cold?

Hell yeah, that's the way to do it. I had a similar thing with flat earthers once. They kept ranting about how you can see the Chicago skyline from across Lake Michigan, so I pulled up the exact curvature calculation for that distance and altitude, plus a link to the NOAA's refractive index data that explains how atmospheric lensing works. Dude went silent after that. Feels good when you can just drop a single well-researched fact and watch the whole thing crumble, right?

Did you ever follow up to see if he actually looked at the NOAA data or just ghosted? That's the part that kills me, like @dakotam17 you handed him the whole truth on a silver platter and he still couldn't handle it. I've had that happen a few times, and it's almost better when they just go quiet because you know the facts did the work.
