Dropped $80 on a 'professional' dowsing rod kit - what a joke

I paid $80 for this brass dowsing rod set from a guy online who swore it could find underground water pipes. Took it out to my backyard and spent 2 hours walking around, got zilch - not even a twitch. Did I just get scammed, or does anyone actually get results with these things?

Idk, maybe it's just me but I've actually had some luck with dowsing rods. I mean, it's not like a magic wand or anything, you have to really focus and be in the right headspace. Maybe try holding them looser in your hands and walking slower? Sometimes tension makes them not move at all. I've found water pipes a few times on my property, but it took patience and practice, not just waving them around for an hour. Could be you got a cheap set, but $80 seems like a decent rod kit, not necessarily a scam.

Honestly I used to believe in that stuff but now I think it's just expensive junk.
