Am I the only one who just found out the moon is drifting away from Earth?

I was reading a NASA page last Tuesday and it says the moon moves about 1.5 inches further away each year. That's roughly the same rate your fingernails grow, which is weird to picture. So in a few hundred million years a total solar eclipse won't even be possible anymore. Does this count as a conspiracy or did everyone else learn this in grade school and forget?
