Walked past a driveway I did 3 years ago and couldn't believe the difference
I was over on Maple Street in Tulsa yesterday and saw a house where I poured a stamped concrete driveway back in 2021. The surface has faded bad, like a grayish white instead of the tan color I put down. The sealer I used back then was a cheap water-based one from the big box store, and it's pretty much gone now. I saw another job from that same year near downtown that still looks good because the guy used a solvent-based sealer. Makes me think I should've spent the extra money upfront. Has anyone else switched away from water-based sealers after seeing this kind of fade over time?

Buddy of mine did a stamped driveway in 2020 with a water-based sealer and it looked like chalk by year two. He switched to solvent on the next one and it's still got color three years later.
