Took me 5 hours to fix a slab that should have been a 2 hour job

Ngl, I messed up a pour last week on a patio in Phoenix by not wetting the base enough before dumping. The concrete dried too fast and I spent like 4 extra hours grinding down ridges and patching low spots with slurry. Honestly should have just mixed in some retarder upfront or waited for cooler temps. Has anyone else had a simple job blow up because of a dumb prep mistake like that?

5 hours of grinding sounds like a solid arm workout though.

Been doing manual labor for 25 years and that much grinding would just make your arms sore, not really build anything useful.
