Took 4 hours to fix a slab edge I could have caught in 10 minutes
Poured a 30x40 pad outside Denver last Tuesday and the edge spalled bad near the control joint. I spent the whole afternoon grinding and patching with a cement mix that kept sloughing off. Turns out my bull float had a worn lip on one side, leaving a low spot I didn't notice until it set up. Next time I'm checking that float edge before every pour, has anyone else had a tool wear that sneaks up on them like that?
