Switched from hand troweling to a power trowel last month...
I used to spend 8 hours on my knees with a hand trowel finishing a 400 square foot garage slab in Austin. Then I rented a power trowel from Sunbelt for $85 and finished the same job in under 2 hours with a way better finish. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed their forearms don't ache for days after?

I feel you on that forearm pain man. I did a 500 square foot driveway in Phoenix last summer with a hand trowel and my hands were locked up like claws for three days straight. It got so bad I couldn't even grip my coffee mug in the morning. Switching to a power trowel was a game changer for me too, not just for the finish but for saving my joints. That constant vibration from the hand trowel just beats you down after a while, especially on hot days when the concrete is setting fast. My only regret is not making the switch years ago because my elbows are finally starting to forgive me.
