Switched from a magnesium bull float to a resin one 6 months ago

I used to think the heavier magnesium float gave me better control on slabs, but I was fighting fatigue by the end of a 50-yard pour. The resin one glides way smoother with less effort, and I'm finishing 20% faster on flat work around Sacramento. Has anyone else made the swap and noticed a difference in their finish?

Right, but how's the resin float holding up on really hot days? I'm asking because in the valley we get that midday sun that turns a slab into paste quick, and I'm wondering if the resin starts dragging or getting sticky compared to the magnesium. Also, you seeing any difference in air entrainment or surface sealing with the lighter touch?

Midday sun on a resin float? Yeah, turns it into a sticky mess about as fast as my first marriage turned into a disaster. Haven't tried dragging it yet because I'm too busy trying not to cuss at the slab.
