Spent $400 on a power trowel and it nearly broke my wrist

I thought I was saving money by getting a used power trowel off Facebook Marketplace. Looked fine in the photos but the blades were out of balance and it vibrated like crazy. After one big pour at a driveway in Springfield I had to stop because my hands were numb. Bought a new one from the rental place for $900 the next day. Anyone else get burned by used equipment that looked okay?

Man, that's the old "cheap tool tax" hitting you right in the wallet AND the wrist... I bet that thing shook your fillings loose before you even finished the driveway. $400 saved on a machine that fights back is just $400 you could have put toward a chiropractor bill.

How much did you check the blade condition before you bought it? Were they visibly worn or did it just look like normal use?
