Realized I've been screeding wrong for 12 years

I was watching some old timer demo a slab pour down at the supply yard last Tuesday and he had his screed board at a way different angle than I've ever done it. He pulled me aside after and showed me I was leaving a low spot every 4 feet because my angle was digging in. How many of you actually check your screed angle against a straightedge after the first pass?

Yeah that line about "leaving a low spot every 4 feet" hits close to home... I never thought about checking the angle after the first pass either. It's wild how one little habit can mess up your whole pour for years without you realizing.
