Rant: My dad's old foreman kept saying to wait on the wet pad, and I poured anyway
Did a 20x20 driveway in Mesa Ridge on a hot Friday, and the guy helping me, Dale, who has laid flatwork for 30 odd years, kept saying to hold off on the finish until the bleed water was gone. I jumped it early because the sun was cooking us and the truck was already gone. Now those broom lines look like mush and I have a callback to tear out the worst section. Any of you ever rush a hot pour and pay for it later? How do you buy yourself time on days like that?
