Pour went bad fast at a Reno job last Tuesday

We were flat finishing a 40-yard slab off Plumb Lane and the sun came out hard, surface crusted before the bull float could catch it. I hit it with the power trowel anyway and it turned to dust on top, owner walked out and halted the pour mid-way. Anyone else get burned by weather calls that looked fine at 6 AM?

...and honestly that same thing happened to me on a garage pour over in Spanish Springs. We watched the clouds break apart on the drive over and by 10 AM the trucks were baking in the sun like a pizza oven. The finisher tried to cheat it with a little extra cream and the owner made us tear out the whole corner joint a week later.
