I thought that new liquid release agent was just a gimmick

My boss got a case of that 'Slick-Pour' stuff last month and I rolled my eyes, thinking it was just fancy marketing. We used it on a big stamped patio job in Tacoma last week, and I have to admit, the stamps pulled clean every single time with zero tearing. It saved us about two hours of cleanup and touch-up work. Anyone else tried a product they were sure would flop but actually worked great?

Totally get that feeling. Had the same thought about those new flexible trowels a while back. Figured they were just for show. Used one on a tricky wall and it actually made the mud work way smoother. Sometimes the new stuff is legit. Your patio job sounds like it came out perfect.

But is a trowel really that big of a deal? A good old steel one has always worked fine for me. Seems like a solution for a problem that wasn't really there.
