Had to pick between a hand float and a power trowel on a small patio job

I went with the hand float because the patio was only 10x12 and I thought I could save time. Turns out the edges kept lifting and I spent an extra hour fixing it. Anyone else stick with power tools on small pours or is hand work still the way to go?

12x12 patio and I still use a power trowel for the whole thing.
