Drove 45 miles for a $200 batch of rapid-set mix that turned into soup

Grabbed some bags from a supplier in Vegas that claimed 20 minute cure, but the moisture had gotten into the pallet and it wouldn't set right even after 3 hours. Has anyone else run into ruined pre-bagged mix from a big box store's outdoor storage?

That 45 mile drive makes me mad just thinking about it. I had a similar thing happen with a pallet of type N from Home Depot in Phoenix last summer. The bags looked fine on the outside but the mix was basically concrete flavored mud after sitting in the Arizona sun for god knows how long. Did you try calling the supplier to see if they'd comp you anything?

Called the local lumber yard instead of the big box store and they actually swapped the pallet no questions asked when I showed them a picture of the mix. Might be worth a shot if the supplier gives you the runaround - sometimes the little guys care more about repeat customers.
