Bought a $340 power trowel off Craigslist and it paid for itself on one driveway
I always hand finished everything because my dad did it that way and I figured a trowel was for big crews only. A guy in Fort Wayne was selling a used 36 inch walk behind for $340, and I grabbed it mostly out of curiosity. First job was a 24 by 30 driveway pour and I got a way smoother finish in half the time, no more blisters from the hand float. The motor smoked on the third job though, so I dropped $180 on a rebuild kit. Anyone here run one of these or did I just get lucky on a cheap one?
