Warning: My slipped disk from lifting servers alone was a wake-up call

I tried moving a heavy server by myself last year and ended up with a serious back injury. Now I never skip using proper lifting gear or asking for help, and I think solo heavy lifts are reckless in our line of work. How do you handle moving bulky equipment safely?

What, were you trying to win a trophy for being the office hero? I've seen that look people get right before they decide to deadlift a full rack alone. My back hurts just reading your post. Let's just say my spine and I have an agreement now where I pretend I'm not strong at all.
