Switched from Macrium to clonezilla after a bad restore in March
I used Macrium for years doing drive clones for local small businesses. Last March I had a failed restore on an office PC in Austin, the image checked out fine but booted to a black screen. Tried every fix for two days, finally got it going with a manual rebuild. That pushed me to try Clonezilla on my next job, and the raw dd mode just works, no surprises. I still miss the simple interface, but reliability beats pretty menus when a client is down. Anyone else had a backup tool betray them at the worst possible moment?
