Found out my old CompTIA A+ cert is basically worthless now

Was browsing the CompTIA site last night and saw they completely reworked the A+ exam structure for 2024, like 30 percent of the old objectives are gone. I got certified back in 2010 and honestly thought it still meant something, but now employers probably just see it as a piece of history. Has anyone else had to go through a recert or upgrade path just to stay relevant in this field?
