Customer who 'knows computers' asked me to replace a fan, then complained the PC was louder

Had a guy last Tuesday bring in a desktop for a loud fan. I swapped it with a quieter model I had in my toolbox. He picked it up, called back an hour later saying it was still making noise - turned out he had a loose cable tapping the other fan and didn't check before blaming me. Has anyone else had a client swear they knew the issue but got the wrong part entirely?

I saw a post recently where someone compared these situations to going to a doctor and telling them what surgery you need. People hear one symptom and think they've got the whole picture, but half the time they don't even check the basics. Feels like once someone's convinced they're right, they'd rather blame you than admit they missed something simple.

Four out of five self-diagnosed experts agree that WebMD is way more reliable than actual medical training, lol. Love when people dig in their heels like they're defending a PhD they got from a YouTube binge.
