That Saturday when our tool library saved a block party
Last summer our community tool library had a day where everything just clicked. Someone needed a big paver for a broken sidewalk, another family grabbed our popcorn machine for the street fair, and a guy borrowed the pressure washer to clean his porch before the cookout. By noon we had 14 tools checked out and three new members signed up, all in about two hours. Has anyone else had a day where you felt like the whole neighborhood showed up at once?

Put a generator out front for a block party once and let people charge their phones while they borrowed lawn games and a karaoke machine. Ended up with five new members who came over just to plug in and stayed to chat. That popcorn machine thing is smart though, gives people a reason to stop by who wouldn't normally think about a tool library.
