That one Saturday last summer when nobody returned their tools

I'm the volunteer coordinator for our tool library over in Oak Park, and usually our return rate is solid, like 90 percent. But last July we had a stretch where three cordless drills, a tile saw, and a post hole digger all went missing in one week after a big neighborhood fence building project. Has anyone else dealt with a sudden spike in unreturned items and found a system that actually works to prevent it?

Oh man, I gotta disagree a bit. A 90 percent return rate is actually pretty great for a community tool library, stuff walking off now and then is just part of the deal when you're lending to neighbors.
