Pro tip: a paper sign-out sheet beat our fancy $200 app for keeping track of borrowed tools
Our tool library in Columbus tried a phone app for checkout and it was a mess because half our members are retired guys who do not want another login. When we switched to a clipboard and a pen hanging on a nail by the door, our missing tool count dropped from 11 items to zero in about 6 weeks. One guy wrote "back Thursday, Tom" next to our post hole digger and that was that. The app sent reminder texts nobody read, but people hate seeing their own handwriting on a list of stuff they have not brought back. Anybody else find that the low tech option wins once you get past 50 members?
