Overheard a neighbor complain about our loaner ladder, good point

At the pickup counter last Saturday, this older guy was grumbling that our 8-foot aluminum ladder wobbles too much for his taste. He said he'd rather drive 20 minutes to the big box store than use it again. Got me thinking, maybe we need a ladder inspection checklist or a fund for a sturdier model. Anyone else have gear that's past its prime and turning people off from borrowing?
