I was sure buying a tile saw was the right move until last month

I dropped about $350 on a decent wet saw to redo my bathroom floor, thinking I'd use it for years. It sat in my garage for a year after that one job, just taking up space. Then my neighbor mentioned our local tool library had the exact same model for a $5 donation. I felt like a total fool for not checking there first. That $350 could have paid for the tile and then some. Has anyone else bought a big tool for a single project and then wished they'd just borrowed it?

Did you see that article in the paper last week about tool sharing groups getting more popular? It said a lot of people are in the same boat, buying things like pressure washers or drain snakes they only need once. My brother did that with a log splitter, and now it's just a rusty yard ornament. It really makes you stop and think before buying another big tool.

My local library actually started lending tools last year, which is a brilliant idea. It saves so much space and money for everyone in the neighborhood. More communities should really try that model.
