Finally hit 200 unique borrows on our library's seed spreader last weekend

I was just updating the log and realized that beat up old Earthway spreader has been borrowed 211 times since we started two years ago, which honestly shocked me since I figured people would just stick to hand broadcasting.

Man that's awesome, congrats! My local library has a similar setup with a push broadcast spreader and I swear it's checked out pretty much every weekend during spring and fall. I was totally wrong about people not wanting to use them either, I figured everyone would just fling seed by hand like my grandpa did. But once folks realized how much faster it is for a big lawn or garden patch, they got hooked. Our librarian told me they had to buy a second one because the first kept getting booked solid. It's honestly one of the smartest things libraries have done in years, saves people from dropping a hundred bucks on a tool they only need twice a season.

Gosh, that's wild how popular they got... My neighbor actually borrowed a dethatcher from our library last summer and came back raving about it. He'd been fighting with a hand rake for years and his back was killing him. I thought it was a little weird at first too, like who borrows yard tools from a library? But now I'm seeing people check out everything from tillers to hedge trimmers around here. It's almost like a tool library within the library, you know? Weird how something so simple can make such a difference for folks who just need it for a weekend project.
