Figuring out the right drill bit for our library's old concrete wall took me a solid 45 minutes of digging through manuals.

I was trying to hang a new sign for our tool library and the masonry bit I grabbed just wouldn't bite, so I had to sort through three different donated drill sets from the 90s to find the correct carbide-tipped one.

My uncle had a whole coffee can of random bits from garage sales. Tried to help him mount a shelf last year and we went through like ten before finding one that worked, lmao. Half of them were just blunt nubs of metal.

My buddy found a jar of screws in his dad's shed. Spent an hour trying to hang a picture before realizing they were all for some old car engine.
