Cleaning gutters with a community ladder

I borrowed a ladder from our tool library and finished in half the time. Do borrowed tools help you get things done quicker?

Totally, borrowing that stuff is a game changer. I patched my roof last fall with a borrowed harness and nail gun from our neighborhood swap group. Saved me buying a ton of gear for a one time job, and yeah, it went way faster than if I was trying to rig something up myself. Makes those big chores feel way less daunting when you have the right tool for free.

Plus, it's not just about saving cash, it really brings people together when you share stuff like that. You start seeing neighbors as help instead of just folks living nearby. It cuts down on waste too, since fewer tools get bought and then left to gather dust in garages. And if you do end up needing a tool often, borrowing first lets you test it out before you spend your own money. Makes you more willing to try new projects when you know you can get the gear without a big cost. Honestly, these swap groups should be everywhere, they solve so many problems at once.
