Borrowed a chainsaw for 3 days, bought my own the next week
Tried the loaner at our library's Saturday demo, and it fired up so smooth I used it for every limb on my property. But after returning it I couldn't stop thinking how handy it was, so I grabbed a used Stihl for $150 off Craigslist. Has anyone else ended up buying a tool right after borrowing it from the collective?

Man that is such a classic story. I did the same thing with a power washer last spring, borrowed it from the tool library for a weekend and my driveway never looked better. By Monday I was already scrolling through listings for my own. It's like once you see how easy the job is with the right tool, there's no going back. The library is great but there is something about having it in your own garage ready to go whenever. Good for you on the used Stihl too, those things run forever if you treat them right.
