Unpopular opinion: I think invert diving on air is overrated for shallow work
Spent 6 years religiously using nitrox for everything under 100ft but last month on a pier job in Galveston I ran out of mix and had to switch to air - legs were fine, no extra fatigue, and saved $80 on fills. Am I missing something or do we just buy into the hype because everyone says so?

Marketing works on divers too, just like everything else.

Did I get the higher math of diving marketing, or was that just my air mix talking?

Nah I gotta push back a little here. I've been on plenty of dives where the extra bottom time from nitrox was the difference between finishing the work and bagging it early. One time on a wreck cleanout in 90 feet, air would have had me out in 20 minutes but nitrox gave me almost 45. That's not hype, that's just math.
