That week in the Gulf when everything that could go wrong did

Back in 2017 I had a stretch off Port Fourchon that was just brutal. Monday morning my dry suit zipper blew out on the first dive, spent two hours waiting for a spare to get shipped from the shop. Tuesday the surface supply hose got a pinhole leak and we had to patch it halfway through a bottom inspection. By Thursday I was so worn down I dropped a 60lb weight off the basket and it sank straight into the mud. That whole week I made maybe $400 after paying for gear repairs and lost time. Anyone else ever had a run of luck like that where you just couldn't catch a break?

The whole thing just shows how one bad move sets off a chain reaction that eats your whole paycheck. Same thing happens in regular jobs too, like when your car breaks down the same week you get a fine and then your fridge dies. You end up paying more to fix stuff than you actually earned that week.
