Showerthought: The week I pulled 14 straight days in 40 foot vis in the Gulf was amazing but it messed up my expectations forever

I spent a week near Port Fourchon last July where the vis was like swimming in a swimming pool, you know? Like 40 feet easy, warm water, no current. Every dive felt like a vacation. But then the next week I got sent to a harbor job up in Boston where I couldn't see my own gauges. That ruined me. I kept comparing every murky dive to that perfect week and getting frustrated. On the bright side, my air consumption was insane during the good week because I was so relaxed. But honestly, has anyone else dealt with a killer stretch of work that made you hate normal conditions? Like how do you reset your brain after that?

Same here. I always tell new guys, "That week was the exception, not the rule.

Changed my mind after that week too, @barbara967.
