Rant: the safety guy at the Morgan City dock made me redo my bailout drill and I'm honestly glad he did
Was doing a routine pre-job check at a dock in Morgan City last Tuesday and the site safety guy stopped me mid-drill. He said my 3 minute countdown was really closer to 4 and a half because I was rushing the regulator swap. I was annoyed at first, been diving 11 years and figured I knew my own setup. But we ran it again with him timing and calling out each step, and I shaved 40 seconds off by just slowing my hands down instead of panicking through it. Did the same drill with the two new guys on the crew after and they both picked it up way faster watching it done calm. Any of y'all got a safety lead who actually watches the clock on your bailout, or is it mostly just sign the sheet and go?
