Old hand on the Gulf job called my harness setup lazy, now I'm second guessing the whole thing
Had a guy with 30 years on me look over my gear at a dock job in Galveston and he said straight up my bailout bottle routing was going to get me hung up on something. I ran it across my back the way I always have and never had a problem, but he walked me through how it catches on a piling when you turn. I rerouted it low on the hip the next day and honestly it felt awkward and slow. So now I'm stuck between doing what I know and doing what he said, and I want to hear from the guys who've been at this longer. Has anyone here changed a setup off one guy's word and later wished they had left it alone?
