Hot take: the 50 foot rule for surface supply is mostly made up
I was reading through an old ADCI guidance doc last month and a line about max hose length on surface supplied air stopped me cold. It said something like every extra 100 feet of hose costs you around 1 psi at the hat, so a diver on 300 feet is working harder for less. My old supervisor in Morgan City always swore anything past 50 feet meant you were asking for trouble, and now I get why he was so stubborn about it. Anybody here actually run a long hose job where the math worked out fine, or is my guy right?
