Hot take: People are way too sloppy with their umbilical checks before a dive

Honestly, I see guys just give it a quick glance and call it good. Ngl, that's asking for trouble. I watched a diver in Mobile Bay get hung up for 20 minutes because a tiny nick in his air hose swelled shut at 90 feet. Now I do the full hand-over-hand check, feeling every inch for soft spots or cuts. Takes maybe 90 seconds and it's saved my bacon twice. What's your pre-dive umbilical routine look like?

You ever do the full check and still find yourself double-checking the same spot? My paranoia is probably overkill.
