Found a zip tie trick for managing hose twists on the boat deck
Last month in Port Fourchon, I kept fighting the umbilical getting wrapped around a cleat every time we repositioned. Tried the standard coil method and it still tangled. Noticed the deckhand was using a zip tie to lash the hose to a bungee loop, keeps it off the deck entirely. Now I carry a handful of 12-inch ties and do that before every dive. Has anyone else rigged their hoses to stay clear of deck hardware, or is this just a me problem?

Heard a guy down at the marina swear by those heavy-duty cable ties for the same thing, said it saved his compressor line from getting chewed up on a gunnel edge. Kinda makes me wonder why the factory rigging doesn't already do that, you know?
