My coworker told me I was wasting time learning Python first

I was talking to this senior dev at a meetup in Cleveland last week and he said beginners should just start with JavaScript since it's more practical for job hunting. It hit different because he showed me how many more entry level roles use JS frameworks. Anyone else get told to switch languages early on?

clicked better for me personally lol i mean its just a tool at the end of the day. everyone makes it sound like picking java over python is a life or death decision.
