I thought learning to code meant you had to be a math genius
When I started six months ago, I was sure I'd fail because I hated math in school. My friend told me to just try building a simple website with HTML and CSS, and I made a page about my dog in a weekend. I realized coding is more about solving puzzles and following steps than doing complex equations. Has anyone else been scared off by the math thing before they started?

Was the math fear ever that big of a deal?

I taught myself Python five years ago with the same worry. My high school algebra grades were bad, so I figured programming was out of reach. It turns out most day to day coding is just logic, like breaking a big job into small steps. I agree with the puzzle comparison completely. Michaelw26 asks if the math fear is a big deal, and for me it was the main thing that kept me from starting sooner. Once you begin building real things, you see it's a different skill.
