Trusted the $400 probe over my gut, now I always verify with a test cut

A supplier talked me into a pricey touch probe last quarter, said it was accurate to a tenth. First job it ran, it zeroed on a chip and we scrapped 8 parts before I caught it, quick test cut in scrap aluminum showed the real offset. Do you guys still probe blindly or run a manual check on every setup?
