Took a detour through a shop in Detroit and saw a guy run a CNC from a tablet

Stopped at this little machine shop off I-96 last week while waiting on a part. Old timer there was controlling his whole Haas with some app on a Samsung tablet. He showed me how he tweaks feeds and speeds without walking back to the panel. Blew my mind honestly. Anyone else using remote control setups or am I late to the party?

You ever see a guy run a whole mill from his lunch truck? My buddy operates a small fab shop near Toledo. He rigged up an old iPad to control his machines from his pickup. He was sitting there drinking coffee, adjusting a cut on an aluminum part without even going inside. Said he set it up so he could run parts while waiting on suppliers or handling paperwork. Honestly looked like some kind of magic trick when he showed me.
