Stumbled onto a solid workholding hack for thin parts today

Tbh I've been fighting with thin aluminum parts on my Haas for months. They kept lifting off the table no matter how many clamps I used. Then an old machinist told me to try double-sided tape with a light cut first. I grabbed some 3M 5952 from the supply room and it worked like magic. That first pass at .005 depth held everything solid. Anyone dealt with thin stock warping on your finish passes?

I mean you're probably just asking for trouble with tape instead of just using a vacuum fixture.
