Stuck with flooded coolant and chose a hand pump over an electric one
When my coolant pump died last month on my Haas VF-2, I had to decide fast between a $400 electric replacement and a $60 hand pump. Everyone on here was saying go electric for speed, but I went with the hand pump. I figured I could handle a few extra minutes per cycle if it saved me that kind of money. Three weeks in, the hand pump has been fine for my small job shop, and I haven't had downtime. Has anyone else stuck with a manual option and regretted it?

Ha! That reminds me of a guy I used to know at a different shop. He tried the exact same thing on his Fadal. Hand pump worked fine for about two months until he had to do a deep clean on the tank and spent a whole afternoon pumping it out by hand. Said his arm felt like it was gonna fall off. He ended up buying the electric one anyway after that.
