Old spindle bearing gave out on a Friday afternoon

I was running a job on an older Fadal about two months ago, roughing out some 6061 aluminum parts for a local fab shop. Around 3 PM I heard this grinding noise that got worse fast, then the spindle just locked up solid. Had to pull the whole cartridge out, find a used replacement on eBay for $400, and spent the weekend swapping it in. Anyone else had to deal with unexpected spindle failures on older machines?
