Manual tramming beats the fancy probe most days

Shop got a Renishaw probe setup last month and everyone treats it like magic, but I still grab my trusty dial indicator for tramming the head. Spent 4 hours on a 5-axis job in Toledo where the probe said the head was true but the finish showed otherwise, and a manual sweep with a .0001 indicator found a .002 tilt. I'm not saying probes are useless, they save time on setups for sure, but for critical stuff I trust my hands over the software every time. Anyone else feel like the old methods still win on repeatability, or am I just stuck in my ways?
