I doubted the 3D probe attachment for a year, now I use it every single shift

Back in March I watched a guy on YouTube set up one of those 3D probe attachments on his mill and I figured it was just another gadget for guys with too much money. My partner kept pushing me to get one for our old Haas VF-2, said it would save setup time. I finally caved last month and bought a used one off eBay for around $350. The first time I used it to locate a part that had a weird angled edge, it took me maybe four minutes instead of the usual twenty. I still don't trust it for super tight tolerances, but for everyday fixture setup it has honestly cut my morning grind in half. Has anyone else been burned by a probe that lost its calibration, or am I just being paranoid?
