Guy on the night shift told me my surfacing toolpaths were way too aggressive, so I cut the stepover in half
He was right about the chatter marks I was leaving, but now my cycle times are nearly double and I'm wondering if anyone has found a happy medium on aluminum parts around 12 inches long.

Just find the middle ground on stepover and push your feed up.

Wait, "just push your feed up" like it's nothing? On a 12 inch part with aluminum? I mean, maybe it's just me but that sounds like a one way ticket to snapping an endmill or getting some serious deflection.
